Industrialist, Educationist, Parliamentarian & Philanthropist Dr. Krishna Kumar Birla had started K.K. Birla Foundation in 1991 to recognize contributions made by Authors & Scholars in advancing the Education, Literacy & Cultural Traditions of India. Thus, K.K. Birla Foundation over the years invites entries for their six awards [4 awards for Literacy Excellence, 1 award for Scientific Research and 1 award for Philosophical writing] to the Indian Nationals.
K.K. Birla Foundation has invited nominations (entries) for the Annual Saraswati Samman, Vyas Samman, Bihari Samman & Scientific Research award for this year from the Indian Citizens with outstanding work in the relevant categories.
• Saraswati Samman of K.K. Birla Foundation is given to an Indian citizen for outstanding work in any of the 22 languages listed in the Schedule-VIII of the Constitution. The Saraswati Samman prize money is Rs.7.5 lacs.
• Vyas Samman of K.K. Birla Foundation is given to an Indian Citizen Author for outstanding work in Hindi literary. The prize money of Bihari Samman is Rs. 2.5 lakh.
• Bihari Samman of K.K. Birla Foundation is given to a Rajasthani Author for outstanding work in Hindi or Rajasthani literary. The prize money of Bihari Samman is Rs. 1 lakh.
• Scientific Research Award of K.K. Birla Foundation is given to an Indian Citizen for advancing research in Science. The prize money of Scientific Research Award is Rs. 1.5 lakh.
