The remaining 10% of the prize fund is diverted to the Booster Fund, which ensures that EuroMillions can always offer a starting jackpot of €17 million. The Booster Fund can also be used to provide Superdraws, which offer big guaranteed jackpots.
If the EuroMillions jackpot is not won, it rolls over to the following draw. This rollover facility enables the jackpot to climb up to impressive heights that can often surpass the €100 million (Rs. 859 crore) mark. There is a cap of €250 million (Rs. 2,500 crore), meaning the jackpot cannot go any higher. It can remain at the capped level for five draws, but if no player is able to match the entire winning line drawn in the fifth draw at €250 million, then the entire prize fund rolls down and is distributed between players in the next winning tier.
In the latest EuroMillions draw, held on Tuesday 5th November 2024, no players matched the five numbers and two Lucky Stars, leading to a jackpot rollover to the next draw.
